LETTER FROM THE EDITOR: The Index to Current Urban Documents has established itself as the primary research tool for retrieving information about local government. Are you interested in knowing
We have the answers to these questions and many more because the Index is the only regularly published guide to the reports and research that are generated by the local government agencies, civic organizations, academic and research organizations, public libraries, and metropolitan and regional planning agencies in approximately 450 selected cities in the United States and Canada. We index over 3,000 subject areas, providing a spectrum of access to local information which is, in turn, available unabridged on archival quality silver halide microfiche. Volume 28 will be the last time that microfiche of the full documents will be produced. Beginning with Volume 29, the full documents will be available through an on-line subscription We have developed this website to show you how the Index is set up and what kinds of information we can help you access, what types of documents we have available on microfiche, and what our subscribers are saying about us. We would be happy to send you a free sample of the Index and microfiche so you can become more familiar with our product. A CD-ROM version of Volume 27s Index (without full documents) will be available for a two week loan period this fall. You can order this free-of-charge product by filling out the enclosed form Please take a minute to see what's new in Volume 27 Number 4 of the Index. Also, because we are constantly in search of new contributors for the Index who will make our coverage of cities in the United States and Canada even more comprehensive, we would like to tell you how you can become one of our newest contributors. Welcome to our website! We hope you enjoy your visit. Sincerely, |
